All Things Nails Book

**** Update ****

Still no luck finding a publisher although I did write to one at the end of January. Keep your fingers crossed!  I am also looking into publishing and printing the book myself.  Start sorting out your photos, they need to be clear and the fingers clean.

HOW, WHY, WHERE, WHAT, WHO?

Any questions you want answering or problems you need help with?  We will be able to help you.  Do you have any solutions to the problems below?  Let me know, phone, fax or write.

How do you deal with clients who insist on wearing extensions which are obviously too long for them? I explain the problems they are likely to experience such as stress cracks on the sides, lifting from the base and the increased risk of nail infections, but even if this does not work, the amount they have to spend of frequent repairs soon brings them round.  It might take a while, but once they realise that the can halve their costs by cutting the length down they come into line eventually and in the meantime you earn a few extra pounds into the bargain.   Kate Petitt, Southampton

How do you ensure striping tape stays put on the nail? Striping tape has a tendency to peel away at the edges making it very tempting for the client to ‘flick’ at it causing it to lift of totally.  To help avoid this cut the tape just short of the nail.  Dab a tiny amount of nail glue to the end of an orange stick and apply it under the tape just at the edges. Using a clean orange stick press the tape firmly in place for a couple of seconds.  Apply your usual top coat.

WANTED: NAIL WORLD MAGS

Does anyone have any old or new versions of Nail World, the American nail art magazine, that they no longer want?  Or, is anyone going to be in Detroit soon and can pick one up for me?  Please call me if you can help.

Et voila, your own custom made glitter acrylic powder. It looks nice if you just add glitter to the white powder and leave the pink plain.  I did a set of normal pink acrylics with a fancy airbrushed French manicure and then another layer of clear acrylic mixed with iridescent white powder.  Looked absolutely wicked and the client always has the French manicure underneath any polish she may apply and then remove.  Sorry, I don’t have a photo to show you yet, you’ll just have to trust me!
