TECHNO NAIL TECH

In April I logged onto the Internet for the first time.  For the sake of non tech nail techs out there I laboriously slaved over the World Wide Web for hours and hours and hours searching out info and nail art to pass on.

I know many of you do not have access to the Internet and I wouldn’t like you to miss out so whenever I find one with really good info or nail art on I will offer it to you.  Even if you don’t have internet it’s worth popping into a ‘cyber café’ just to look at these sites.  This month I found a brilliant Japanese site for the freehand nail artist.  It shows 54 different designs.  The are 6 categories which include French (4 designs), Marble (6 designs), Paint (19 designs), Rhinestones (3 designs), Flowers (15 designs), Party (7 designs).  Each one is hand painted and there are some beautiful ones.  I have copied some of the designs with great results.  One of the marble effect nails looks just like raspberry ripple ice cream!  I don’t think you will be disappointed with the designs.

If you do have access to the Internet here are some good websites I have found.  If you have trouble accessing please let me know, I may have typed it wrong!!  If you know of any good websites let me know and I’ll pass it on.

WEDDING NAILS

Now is the ideal time to start promoting your nail services to brides. If you normally take out newspaper ads try aiming them at brides for the next couple of months.  Although weddings take months and months to prepare make up, hair and nails are one of the last things to be arranged so you can jump in there. Nails are often forgotten in the arrangements and can easily be fitted in near to the date of the wedding as the bride and bridesmaids like the nails to be a new and as fresh as possible.  If the bride has never worn nails before ideally you should do the full set two weeks before the wedding.  This will give her time to get used to the nails.  How awful if you weren’t used to them and snapped one on the day.  One or two days before the big day arrange a fill or re-balance and do any nail art required.  By now she will be used to them and will be able to keep them for the honeymoon.  When she gets back book her in for another fill or re-balance.  By now she will be a regular for you.

Try offering a discounted rate for bulk bookings, once everyone hears the brides mother is getting her nails done so will the grooms mother want it.  And there you have three bookings.  I offer discounted rates of 20% if more than £50 worth of bookings are paid for in advance.

THE GOLDEN RULE OF WEDDING NAILS: Never, never, never do the brides nails on the day of the wedding. A stressed out bride on a time limit leads to a stressed out nail tech which leads to nails that could be done better if in a calm relaxed atmosphere.
