ALL THINGS NAILS

Issue 7

June 1999

Hi all,

I’m still recovering from the Professional Beauty show at Olympia last month.  6 hours of walking, buying, trying, ooohing and aaahing.  The nail art competition entries were brilliant.  On the back page is one of the entries from the nail art comp.  As usual the Ritchina stand was mobbed with airbrush artists stocking up with stencils and paints.  Their airbrushed phones were giving everyone ideas of how to expand with their airbrush services.  It’s not just for nails you know.   Also packed was the Creative stand.  They had special offers enticing us all to spend, spend, spend, which of course we did with smiles on our faces.  For those of you who went, I hope your credit cards are not straining under the weight of your new balance!!  The next big show is a nails only show in September.  Look out for my ‘guide to show survival’ in August.

I am starting to receive a lot of your nail art pics, thank you.  So, to make the most of the only opportunity for colour pics (the front and back pages) I will include nail art pics and instructions on the front page as well as the back.  From time to time it may mean a shorter introduction.

To achieve this design, spray the entire nail yellow, then cover 2/3 of the nail with orange leaving a yellow strip at the side of the nail.  Spray red over half of the orange giving a light to dark effect.  Apply a grass or jagged edge stencil over the red towards the centre of the nail and spray black.  Seal the design wth topcoat.
